Buying membership does not guarantee a staff position, although we do like our staff to have homes they care about seeing grow and evolve.  Staff represents Chat Whisper and their attitudes, and reaction to conflict and peacemaking abilities is essential to their status.  Also, not having membership does not mean you cannot be on staff, so don't let that hold you back if you think you may fit in.  Sometimes the site owner will hand select a moderator who hasn't even requested this position simply because of the way they interact with others.  Staff cannot be on staff elsewhere.

Webmistress - There is only one webmistress of the site, Gem, the site owner.

Senior Staff - Senior Staff duties are a bit more than moderators.  They handle other business on the site, including, but not limited to, speaking with possible new room leaders, or handling minor site problems, scripting, and/or other technical things. Senior Staff is who you would go to in you were unable to get in touch with the webmistress.  They have booting capabilities, but please first contact a moderator if they are available.  Senior staff are able to answer just about any question you may have about the site.

Administrators - Administrators are room owners in the Chat Whisper Alcoves. They have complete control of their room. They are able to assign moderators, boot and ban people from their room only.

Room Leaders - Our room leaders are a vital and important part of the Chat Whisper Staff.  They have a responsibility to their individual rooms in seeing to the growth and development, welcoming new people to their quarter.  In some cases, the physical room leader (Ubar, Lordess, etc) will not be the site Room Leader, it may be a Council member of the room, or another member, Free or slave in those areas where this designation is necessary.  While room leaders should be able to answer your questions about the site, they are very busy in running their own rooms and should not be bothered if a moderator or Senior Staff member is around.   Please see a moderator for booting.

Moderators -  It should be remembered that while most rooms have a designated moderator or moderators, they are site staff,  not room staff, and are welcome anywhere on the site.  When handling site issues, the only guidelines they follow are those of Chat Whisper.  If a staff member wears a realm collar, they cannot be "ordered" to boot anyone, and when they are on site business, they are Chat Whisper Staff and should be given the respect of the position.
